New US Trailer for ‘Kill the Jockey’ Featuring Nahuel Pérez Biscayart

New US Trailer for ‘Kill the Jockey’ Featuring Nahuel Pérez Biscayart

"He was a good boy..." Music Box has revealed an official US trailer for Kill the Jockey, the Argentinian film starring Nahuel Pérez Biscayart as a rogue horse racing jockey who goes on the run. Thi premiered at the 2024 Venice Film Festival last year, and also played at the Toronto, San Sebastian, Viennale, Tokyo, and Stockholm Festivals. It's a gem! One of my favorites from last year – an especially clever, perfectly shot fable with an unforgettable lead performance. Spanish-Argentina actor Nahuel Pérez Biscayart stars as Remo, the on-the-run jockey at the center of this cinematic tale of a man in the midst of transition. Remo's self-destructive behavior and alcoholism overshadows his talent. Abril, an upcoming jockey is pregnant by Remo and has to decide between child or continuing to race. They both race for Sirena, a businessman who saved Remo's life in the past. Also starring Úrsula Corberó, Daniel Giménez Cacho, Daniel Fanego, Osmar Núñez, and Roberto Carnaghi. This already opened in many places last year, and is finally ready for US release in summer. Catch it on the big screen for the full cinematic experience. I'm lucky a snippet of my Venice review last year is quoted […]

First Teaser for ‘The Man in My Basement’ Horror with Willem Dafoe

"Tell no one of our arrangement..." Hulu has revealed a first look teaser trailer for a film titled The Man in My Basement, an intriguing new horror creation from filmmaker Nadia Latif. Set for a streaming debut later in 2025 - another feature debut horror creation for Hulu. Charles Blakey, an African American man living in Sag Harbor, is stuck in a rut, out of luck, and about to lose his ancestral home... when a peculiar white businessman with a European accent offers to rent his basement for the summer. He agrees to let this mysterious stranger into his basement, unaware he may be letting in a force much darker than he imagined. Uh oh. Starring Corey Hawkins and Willem Dafoe, with Anna Diop & Tamara Lawrance. It's based on the book of the same name first published in 2004. The film was originally set to star Jonathan Majors, who was replaced after his assault conviction. Stay tuned for more with the full trailer later on this summer. A Story of Stone & Men – A24’s Trailer for ‘Architecton’ Documentary

"When we design something, we design the behavior of people." A24 has unveiled an official trailer for the documentary titled Architecton, the latest creation from master documentarian Victor Kossakovsky (of Gunda, Aquarela). This first premiered at the 2024 Berlin Film Festival last year, and will be released in the US in art house theaters starting this August (remarkably by A24!!). An extraordinary journey through the material that makes up our habitat: concrete and its ancestor, stone. Architecton is an epic, intimate, and very poetic meditation on architecture and how the design & construction of buildings from the ancient past reveal our destruction — and offer hope for survival and a way forward. Rocks and stone connect the disparate societies, from ghostly monoliths stuck in the earth to tragic heaps of concrete rubble waiting to be hauled off & repurposed anew. Through Kossakovsky's inquisitive lens, the grandeur & folly of humanity and its precarious relationship with nature posits the urgent question: How do we build...? And how can we build better, before it’s too late? Starring legendary architect and designer Michele De Lucchi alongside several million tons of rocks. It's a stunning film to watch, though gets a bit repetitive & […]

First Full Trailer for Luc Besson’s ‘Dracula’ Feat. Caleb Landry Jones

First Full Trailer for Luc Besson’s ‘Dracula’ Feat. Caleb Landry Jones

"He's been looking for his beloved for more than 400 years..." Surprise! Luc Besson and EuropaCorp have been working on their own new Dracula movie, in addition to Robert Eggers' Nosferatu last year. Take a look at the very first trailer for Luc Besson's Dracula: A Love Tale, as it's officially called. Written in the 1890s, the old Dracula book follows a nobleman who loses his wife and in his grief and cursing of God is transformed into a vampire. While the original Bram Stoker story leaves on the doomed ship the Demeter, Besson's take will focus on the beginning of Dracula’s life and his relationship with his wife. Caleb Landry Jones (who was also in Besson's DogMan) stars as Prince Vladimir. When his wife is killed, a 15th century prince renounces God and becomes a vampire. Centuries later in 19th century London, Vlad sees a woman resembling his late wife and pursues her, sealing his own fate. Also starring Zoë Bleu Sidel, Christoph Waltz, Matilda de Angelis, and Guillaume de Tonquédec. Dracula is Besson's most ambitious project since his 2016 sci-fi epic Valerian - it's shot in English, presented with French subtitles in this trailer. Enjoy. Here's the first […]

Theodore Pellerin & Archie Madekwe in Thriller ‘Lurker’ Official Trailer

"We all want the same thing... I just want it more." Mubi has revealed the first official trailer for a superb thriller titled Lurker, which premiered at the 2025 Sundance Film Festival earlier this year (it made it onto my Best of the Fest list). Lurker is the feature directorial debut of writer / director Alex Russell, who already made a name for himself writing the script for the "Beef" series as well as episodes of "The Bear" and "Dave" previously. He's made his mark with this one. This fantastic parasocial, paranoid film arrives to watch in the US starting this August. The film stars Théodore Pellerin, Archie Madekwe, Zack Fox, Havana Rose Liu, Wale Onayemi, Daniel Zolghadri, and Sunny Suljic. When a wannabe-famous loser working at a clothing store befriends a famous celebrity musician, he'll do anything to stay in his world and leech off of his fame. "A screw-turning psychological thriller made for the moment." Online fixation meets reality in this parasocial, paranoid cat-and-mouse thriller film driven by star-making performances. With an incisive view to contemporary culture and a brilliant score from Kenny Beats, Lurker presents an exhilarating take on the music industry, the blurred line between friend […]

Jennifer Lopez’s Powerful ‘Kiss of the Spider Woman’ Teaser Trailer

"I couldn't live without movies." Roadside Attractions has unveiled a powerful first look teaser trailer for Kiss of the Spider Woman, the big new musical starring Jennifer Lopez. This premiered to rapturous praise and great reviews at the 2025 Sundance Film Festival earlier this year (here's my review). Featuring one of the best lead performances I've seen in any film so far this year - from newcomer Tonatiuh as Luis Molina. Set in Argentina during a period of political unrest. Valentín, a political prisoner, shares a cell with Molina, who is convicted for indecency. An unlikely bond forms as Molina recounts his favorite Hollywood musical plot starring Ingrid Luna, played by Jennifer Lopez. Based on the Broadway musical of the same name, which is also adapted from the acclaimed 1976 novel Kiss of the Spider Woman by Argentinian writer Manuel Puig. Diego Luna co-stars as Valentín / Armando, with a magnificent cast featuring Tonatiuh, Jennifer Lopez, Bruno Bichir, Josefina Scaglione, Aline Mayagoitia. I'm a huge fan of this! It will probably end up with some Oscar nominations! Highly recommend watching it when it opens later this year. Here's the first teaser trailer for Bill Condon's musical Kiss of the Spider […]

Full Official Trailer for ‘Alien: Earth’ Xenomorph Action Thriller Series

"If we don't lock them down, it will be too late..." Listen to him! Lock it down! This looks badass. FX has finally revealed a full official trailer for the exciting spin-off series Alien: Earth, based on the Alien series. Confirmed for release in August this summer - and this trailer packs some seriously awesome footage. When a mysterious space vessel crash-lands, a young woman (Sydney Chandler) and a ragtag group of tactical soldiers make a fateful discovery that puts them face-to-face with the planet's greatest threat. This is set in 2120 when "five corporations - Prodigy, Weyland-Yutani, Lynch, Dynamic and Threshold - wield the power of nations, and proprietary advancements in technology provide the promise of a new tomorrow." Doesn't sound good. Created & directed by Noah Hawley. The cast includes Alex Lawther, Timothy Olyphant, Essie Davis, Samuel Blenkin, Babou Ceesay, David Rysdahl, Adrian Edmondson, Moe Bar-El, Adarsh Gourav, & others. We've been posting various teasers for this since ever since last year, it's great to finally get a glimpse at some real footage. And DAMN does this look really good. I am properly impressed - big and epic and expansive, firing off some real thrilling xenomorph action scenes. […]

Yorgos Lanthimos’ Kooky Film ‘Dogtooth’ 4K Restoration New Trailer

"If you stay inside, you are protected." Kino Lorber has revealed a brand new trailer for the 4K re-release of the iconically weird Yorgos Lanthimos film titled Dogtooth, which originally premiered back in 2009. Before he went on to make the hit films The Lobster, The Favourite, Kinds of Kindness, and Poor Things, Yorgos Lanthimos rocked the cinema world with Dogtooth - which earned rave reviews at its initial Cannes Film Festival premiere before earning a surprise Best Foreign Language Film nomination in early 2011. A controlling, manipulative father locks his three adult offspring in a state of perpetual childhood by keeping them prisoner within the sprawling family compound with strict rules. Starring Christos Stergioglou, Mary Tsoni, Christos Passalis, and Michele Valley. Restored in 4K from the 35mm camera & sound negatives by Boo Productions and mk2 Films at Asterisk* Post and I Hear Voices sound studio. With color grading by Gregory Arvanitis and Thimios Bakatakis. And digital sound restoration by Landros Ntounis. The 4K restoration process was supervised Lanthimos. This film is definitely not for everyone, but it's a fabulous example of Yorgos' quirky, kinky, playful ideas & how he prefers narratives that go against the grain. Enjoy. Here's […]

Official Trailer for Albert Serra’s Matador Doc ‘Afternoons of Solitude’

"Riveting." Grasshopper Film has revealed the official US trailer for the documentary film from Spain titled Afternoons of Solitude, directed by acclaimed Catalan-Spanish filmmaker Albert Serra. It premiered at the 2024 San Sebastian Film Festival last year, and also played at NYFF, Tokyo, Tromso, Palm Springs, and many other festivals. Now set for release in the US in art house cinemas this summer. The film follows one matador, a famous bullfighter – it's still a sport that happens regularly all the time in Spain. The life of the bullfighter Andrés Roca Rey during a day of bullfighting, from the moment he dresses up to the moment he undresses. Serra's doc "explores the spiritual pain of bullfighting, the tormented torero in a ring, one of the most excessive & graphic examples of the origin of Southern European civilization." Uh huh. Sounds like Serra just likes watching bullfighting. This purely observational doc is described as a "spellbinding blend of showmanship & barbarity." Definitely not for anyone who hates this violent towards animals Spanish sport. Here's the official trailer (+ poster) for Albert Serra's doc film Afternoons of Solitude, from YouTube: A film from the visionary director of Pacifiction, Albert Serra's Afternoons of Solitude […]

Kallmekris & CelinaSpookyBoo’s Horror Film ‘House On Eden’ Trailer

"Something's happening in this house and we need to figure out what it is." Well, yes, that's literally the premise of your entire film. Shudder & RLJE have revealed the trailer for a found footage horror film called House On Eden. Set for a theatrical release first in July, then streaming on Shudder later this year. House On Eden is the feature debut from "content creators" Kris Collins (aka "Kallmekris") and Celina Myers (aka "CelinaSpookyBoo"). The duo, best known as KallMeKris and CelinaSpookyBoo on social media, have collectively amassed a dedicated audience of over 70 million followers. It's written and directed by Collins, who also stars alongside Myers and Jason-Christopher Mayer. Setting out to film their next paranormal investigation, Kris, Celina and Jay encounter a malevolent, ancient spirit residing in an abandoned house deep in the woods. Sadly there's nothing interesting or scary about this - it looks like an entirely derivative horror concept ripping off Paranormal Activity & The Blair Witch Project and everything else before. Meh. Here's the first official trailer for Kallmekris' horror film House On Eden, direct from Shudder's YouTube: Paranormal investigators Kris, Celina, and their videographer Jay expect the usual scares when they set out […]

This initially premiered at last year's Toronto Film Festival, where it won the prestigious People's Choice Award. "With The Life of Chuck, Mike Flanagan takes a detour from the macabre to explore one of Stephen King's alternate sensibilities in an adaptation that carries the spirit of his most optimistic work. The world feels like it’'s ending and everybody’s saying goodbye to Chuck." But it ain't over yet. A life-affirming, genre-bending story adapted from Stephen King's novella about 3 chapters in the life of a man named Charles Krantz. The main ensemble cast has Chiwetel Ejiofor & Tom Hiddleston, with Karen Gillan, Annalise Basso, Benjamin Pajak, Mia Sara, Matthew Lillard, Carl Lumbly, Samantha Sloyan, Harvey Guillén, Jacob Tremblay, Kate Siegel, and Mark Hamill. Hilarious Trailer #2 for Elba & Cena’s ‘Heads of State’ Action Comedy

"The world thinks I look cool with a gun in my hand!" Ha. Prime Video has debuted the second trailer for an action comedy movie called Heads of State, which will be ready to watch in July - though streaming only (not in theaters at all). A wild, totally bonkers fun action comedy movie from Russian filmmaker Ilya Naishuller, also behind the action hits Nobody and Hardcore Henry previously. Two heads are better than one. Idris Elba plays the UK Prime Minister and John Cena plays the US President – the two "Heads of State" have a public rivalry that risks their countries' alliance. But when they become targets of a powerful enemy, they’re forced to rely on each other as they end up on a crazy multinational run. Allied with Noel, a brilliant MI6 agent, they must find a way to thwart a conspiracy that threatens the free world. The film also stars Priyanka Chopra Jonas, Stephen Root, Carla Gugino, Jack Quaid, Sarah Niles, and Paddy Considine - who is narrating this trailer (though he sounds & looks a lot like Sharlto Copley). There's some ridiculous humor in this and the action looks absurdly over-the-top - it might just […]

New ‘Get Your Tickets’ Trailer for Marvel’s ‘The Fantastic Four’ Movie

New ‘Get Your Tickets’ Trailer for Marvel’s ‘The Fantastic Four’ Movie

"Today, we are your defenders. The four of us will face the danger... and we will protect you." Marvel has revealed another new 70-second trailer for The Fantastic Four: First Steps movie, which is launching into theaters in July. This footage announces that tickets are on sale – a full 1.5 months in advance. Looking good! On a 60s-inspired retro-futuristic Earth, the Fantastic Four must protect Earth from being devoured by the cosmic being Galactus and his enigmatic herald, the Silver Surfer. From director Matt Shakman, this FF movie stars Pedro Pascal as Mister Fantastic, Vanessa Kirby as Invisible Woman, Joseph Quinn as the Human Torch, Ebon Moss-Bachrach as The Thing, Ralph Ineson as Galactus, Julia Garner as Shalla-Bal / Silver Surfer, along with Paul Walter Hauser, John Malkovich, Natasha Lyonne, and Sarah Niles. Most of the footage in this comes from the recent official trailer, and it still looks promising. The camaraderie and the comedy between the Fantastic Four "family" looks pretty fun and entertaining, and everything else looks properly epic once Galactus & Silver Surfer show up. Really hoping this turns out good. Here's the "Tickets on Sale" trailer for Matt Shakman's The Fantastic Four: First Steps, via […]
