Guadagnino’s ‘After the Hunt’ Trailer with Julia Roberts & Ayo Edebiri

“I worked too hard, done too much to get here to let it all be just taken away.” Amazon MGM Studios has unveiled the first official trailer for After the Hunt, the highly anticipated accusation thriller arriving in theaters starting in October this fal. The buzz on this is very good already – expect it to be a major player at the Oscars next year. The latest film made by acclaimed filmmaker Luca Guadagnino, after Challengers and Queer last year. It has been described as something similar to Anatomy of a Fall. A college professor is forced to grapple with her own secretive past after one of her colleagues is faced with a serious accusation. What exactly did he do and what is going on? After the Hunt stars Julia Roberts, Ayo Edebiri, Andrew Garfield, Michael Stuhlbarg, and Chloë Sevigny. Damn this looks good! It is expected to premiere at the Venice & Telluride & Toronto Film Festivals this fall before hitting theaters in October. It will definitely get everyone talking… Keep an eye out for this one, it’s going to be one of the big films of the awards season.

“Not everything is supposed to make you comfortable.” A college professor finds herself at a personal and professional crossroads when a star pupil levels an accusation against one of her colleagues and a dark secret from her own past threatens to come to light. After the Hunt is directed by the acclaimed Italian filmmaker Luca Guadagnino, director the films The Protagonists, Melissa P, I Am Love, A Bigger Splash, Call Me By Your Name, Suspiria, Bones and All, Challengers, and Queer previously, as well as a few docs including Salvatore: Shoemaker of Dreams. The screenplay is written by Nora Garrett. It’s produced by Jeb Brody, Brian Grazer, Allan Mandelbaum, and Luca Guadagnino. This is expected to premiere at fall festivals including Venice, Telluride, Toronto, and NYFF. Amazon MGM Studios will then debut Guadagnino’s After the Hunt film in US theaters starting October 17th, 2025 with a wide release in the fall. First impression?
