“Every minute is a step towards death…” “Then you’re coming with me!” Netflix has revealed the official trailer for The Old Guard 2, an action movie sequel to the 2020 movie The Old Guard. After five years of waiting, the immortal crew is back for more fights. “A battle thousands of years in the making.” Andy and her team of immortal warriors return to protect humanity from a formidable new enemy who threatens their existence. Inspired by the graphic novel series, with writer Greg Rucka also co-writing the screenplay for this sequel. After the events of the first movie, Andy grapples with her newfound mortality as a mysterious threat emerges that could jeopardize everything she’s worked towards for thousands of years Directed by Victoria Mahoney, The Old Guard 2 is an emotional, adrenaline-pumping action movie. Starring Charlize Theron, KiKi Layne, Matthias Schoenaerts, Marwan Kenzari, Luca Marinelli, Veronica Ngô, Henry Golding, with Uma Thurman and Chiwetel Ejiofor. I was not a fan of the first movie at all, and this looks even worse. Made-for-TV action with sloppy CGI and worse writing. Nah I’ll be skipping this one.

The screenplay is written by Sarah Walker and Greg Rucka. Based on the graphic novel series by Greg Rucka & Leandro Fernandez. It’s produced by Greg Rucka, Charlize Theron, A.J. Dix, Beth Kono, Marc Evans, David Ellison, Dana Goldberg, Don Granger. Netflix will debut Victoria Mahoney’s The Old Guard 2 action movie streaming on Netflix worldwide starting July 2nd, 2025 coming soon this summer. Who wants to watch?
