“Police believe the Roofman may still be in the area.” Paramount Pictures has just revealed the first official trailer for a movie called Roofman, based on a true story about a former Army Ranger & struggling father who turns to robbing McDonald’s restaurants by cutting holes in their roofs, earning him that nickname. It’s the latest film co-written by and directed by Derek Cianfrance, his first feature film since making The Light Between Oceans back in 2016. Where has he been for the last 10 years! “How far would you go to change who you are?” This the story of the rooftop robber, Jeffrey Manchester, and his time on the lam evading capture. After escaping prison, he secretly lives inside a Toys R Us store for six months, surviving mostly undetected while planning his next move. But when he falls for Leigh, a divorced mom who is drawn to his undeniable charm, his double life soon begins to unravel. Starring Channing Tatum and Kirsten Dunst, with Ben Mendelsohn, LaKeith Stanfield, Juno Temple, Melonie Diaz, Uzo Aduba, Lily Collias, Jimmy O. Yang, and Peter Dinklage. This looks like a fun story more than anything, with Tatum playing a kooky criminal figuring out how to get away every single time, whether it’s in prison or hiding out. Enjoy.
