The Marvel Cinematic Universe is a well-oiled machine, one consistently putting out new projects in theaters and streaming with a Disney+ subscription. Without a doubt the most highly anticipated upcoming Marvel movies is Avengers: Doomsday, which is currently in the mist of production across the pond. Anthony Mackie recently shared an update about filming including talk about… sheep?
What we know about Avengers: Doomsday is limited, but since filming is underway that project has never felt more real. The cast of Doomsday is huge, and includes the return of of Mackie as Captain America. In an interview with ScreenRant he was asked if filming was almost done, to which he said:
No. Hell no. No, we are in the midst of it. I mean, it’s such a big, moving set piece, and it’s such a big story. The best part of shooting a Marvel movie is that it’s always an ever-evolving canvas. There are those staple pieces, and then there are the pieces that circulate throughout the course of the shoot.
The Russo Brothers have up their sleeves is a total mystery, but there are entire teams of heroes that are expected to collide in the blockbuster. So who knows who Mackie’s Sam Wilson gets to interact with?
Filming for Doomsday began back in April, and The Russo Brothers aren’t filming two Avengers movies back to back this time. Instead, the first movie is getting its own shoot, followed by Secret Wars.
Later in that same interview, Anthony Mackie spoke more about what it’s been like filming Doomsday in London. He offered:
So, we’re in the midst of it, but it’s going well. And London is very British, so that’s a thing. A lot of sheep. Who knew there were so many sheep in London? There’s a lot of sheep! It’s crazy.
While plenty of Americans likely experience a culture shock when spending time at London, I didn’t expect sheep to be what stuck out to Anthony Mackie the most. Also… did he somehow expect London to NOT be very British?
As previously mentioned, there are a ton of heroes expected to appear in Doomsday… even by Avengers standards. Earth’s Mightiest Heroes will be appearing alongside the Thunderbolts aka New Avengers, The Fantastic Four, and the X-Men. Exactly how this all comes together is a mystery to fans, but just about anything is possible with the multiverse at play.

Avengers: Doomsday is currently expected to arrive in theaters on December 18th of next year as part of the 2026 movie release list. We’ll just have to see if any sheep manage to sneak into the movie.
The announcement from Stephen Colbert that The Late Show was being cancelled sent shockwaves through the late-night television world. Fans were shocked, as were other late-night hosts. Now it seems the repercussions of the announcement are even being felt outside of late-night TV, and even Paramount+’s Tulsa King is feeling the heat.
Tulsa King, the popular Paramount+ series starring Sylvester Stallone, is getting a spinoff. NOLA King will star Samuel L. Jackson and take place in the Big Easy. Normally one would expect a spin-off to a popular series, with a big-name lead actor, to generate a lot of positive fan reaction. Instead, a recent Instagram post promoting the show is full of comments from angry Stephen Colbert fans saying they won’t be watching the show, as they’re canceling their Paramount+ subscription in protest. decision to cancel The Late Show with Stephen Colbert was a financial one, as the economics of late-night TV simply didn’t support the show any longer. Still, some believe the decision is related to the recent lawsuit Paramount settled with Donald Trump, ahead of its planned merger with Skydance. Colbert referred to the lawsuit settlement as a bribe during his monologue just days before the cancellation announcement.
The Late Show with Stephen Colbert isn’t actually ending for several more months, and quite a lot could happen in that time. If we continue to see this sort of reaction, Paramount+ could be in for a rough few months.

“You know how people say, just be yourself – like, what version of me?” Roadside Attraction has debuted the official trailer for an acclaimed indie film titled Twinless, a very awkward new romantic comedy from filmmaker James Sweeney. This initially premiered at the 2025 Sundance Film Festival earlier this year and was proclaimed one of the best comedies of the festival by many critics. Twinless stars Dylan O’Brien twice – he plays two twin brothers, Roman and Rocky, one of whom is killed early in the film. The remaining brother visits a support group and befriends another grieving man there named Dennis. The two strike up a close friendship which starts to become something more, until secrets from both of them are revealed. Don’t want to give it away! James Sweeney (also the film’s writer and director) co-stars as Dennis, with a small indie cast including Aisling Franciosi and Lauren Graham. It already has an impressive 96% on RT so far, with reviews saying it’s “dark, funny, and emotionally honest.” A unique film with bold twists and turns.

The Voice Season 28 will be premiering on the 2025 TV schedule this fall on NBC, but it will once again be without Adam Levine. The Maroon 5 frontman returned to the singing competition series for Season 27 after departing ahead of Season 17. However, don’t worry, he is returning as a coach on The Voice for Season 29. So, this makes me wonder: Could Blake Shelton, whose final season was in 2023, return at some point, too? Well, we might not have solid answers yet, but there is tea on the conversations allegedly being had about this topic.
Shelton and Levine became a fan-favorite duo on The Voice, and their bromance was certainly a highlight each season. They love their shenanigans probably almost as much as the fans love it, and even Levine was still taking shots at Shelton when he returned last season. Now, with the “Maps” singer returning once again, an insider told The U.S. Sun that producers tried to get the country singer back on board as well:
They offered both Blake and Adam more money, a lot more, to get them back together and do a season together. Obviously, it didn’t work out for Season 28, but stay tuned, it might happen sooner than later.
Kelsea Ballerini replaced Shelton as Levine’s rival last season, it was unexpected, but hilarious to watch. Now, with the “Payphone” singer appearing on Season 29 with John Legend and Kelly Clarkson, it should make for a fun season since they’re all long-time coaches. But a part of me will always want Blake Shelton to be there, too.
Even though the “God’s Country” singer won’t be returning to The Voice as a coach anytime soon, there’s still the possibility he could make an appearance during Season 29. The Voice is getting a revamp for its upcoming season as it will see only three coaches competing and 30 total contestants going to the battle rounds, which will also bring back previous fan-favorites and former coaches such as Cee Lo Green. There are also probably other surprises in store, and one can only hope that Blake Shelton is one of them.

Whatever happens in future seasons of The Voice, it undoubtedly will be hard to recreate the bromance between Shelton and Adam Levine. So, I really hope that NBC manages to bring them back together again, even if it is for just one season.

The 2025 Netflix schedule has been packed with hits, but one that many were eagerly anticipating was Happy Gilmore 2, the long-awaited sequel to one of the funniest sports comedies of all time. Famous wrestler Maxwell Jacob Friedman (otherwise known as MJF) played one of Happy’s sons, Gordie, but the AEW star admitted his love of Sandler goes way back, to the point where he’d willingly tag up with the comedian in the ring.
Adam Sandler’s best movies. With the release of the sequel, I knew I had to ask the wrestler if, as a sports star, he had ever been influenced by Happy Gilmore in his acting ability outside of the ring. Friedman said that not only has Happy Gilmore inspired him, but most of Adam Sandler’s films have:
a slick-haired Travis Kelce and several major PGA stars, such as John Daly, Jack Nicklaus and more. There’s just something about the idea of Sandler in a wrestling ring that I would love.
It also helps that MJF, as well as his co-stars Ethan Cutkosky, Philip Fine Schneider and Conor Sherry, really feel like part of Happy’s family in this. Happy Gilmore 2 is a triumph of a return to the character. While there were plenty of moments that featured memorials for past characters (and actors), the addition of his family and everyone else made it so much more enjoyable. That included MJF as the eldest of the Gilmore Boys, especially when they were freaking out whenever Happy achieved a hole-in-one.

I would have given anything for Chubbs to meet these boys and see just how much like their dad they were. While Carl Weathers as Chubbs is missed, it Happy’s life was filled with family, and now, there’s a chance where he could even compete with his on-screen son in a wrestling match. I need to know when I can watch this possible dream team.
