Record Shop Comedy ‘Paradise Records’ Trailer – Directed by ‘Logic’

“These people are my family.” The rapper Logic has directed a new film titled Paradise Records, and it’s premiering at the 2025 Tribeca Film Festival this summer. To build some early buzz, Logic released this first official trailer for the comedy – about a guy trying to save his shop. He states: “Since I was a child I wanted to make a movie and I’m excited for you all to see what I’ve written and directed!” A record store owner and his eccentric staff fight to save their beloved store from closing. “This hilarious debut film from multi-platinum, Grammy-nominated musician Logic, executive produced by Kevin Smith, is a spiritual successor to films like Barbershop, Friday After Next, Empire Records, and of course, Clerks. Logic pulls double duty, also starring as the endearing Cooper, in what proves to be a rowdy good time of a watch.” Starring Logic, Tramayne Hudson, Reed Northrup, & Mary Elizabeth Kelly, along with a ton of cameos. This looks surprisingly good! Actually funny jokes and clever humor, along with a legit Clerks vibe. I’m down to watch.

Here’s the festival promo trailer for Logic’s comedy movie Paradise Records, direct from YouTube:

Cooper (Logic), a well-meaning record store owner, is trying to keep the doors of Paradise Records open. He’s facing foreclosure, the bank won’t give him a loan, someone keeps offering to buy the property — and then a robbery. He’s not having a great day. Thankfully he’s got a motley crew of entertaining employees and a lot of weed to help him figure out how to get himself out of this big mess. Paradise Records is written and directed by American rapper / writer / producer / filmmaker “Logic”, originally known as Sir Robert Bryson Hall II, making his directorial debut after appearing as an actor in many music videos and working as a composer on video games, in addition to his rap career. It’s produced by Liz Destro, Logic, and Jordan Monsanto. The film is premiering at the 2025 Tribeca Film Festival this summer, playing in the Spotlight Narrative section. No final release date is set yet – stay tuned for updates. First impression? Look any good?

Official Trailer for NYC Concert Promoter ‘Ron Delsener Presents’ Doc

“He was the cornerstone. The beginning.” Abramorama has unveiled an official trailer for Ron Delsener Presents, a documentary film from filmmaker Jake Sumner about one of NYC’s famous concert gurus. This premiered at the 2023 Tribeca Film Festival and finally opens in theaters later this month. For generations of New Yorkers, perhaps no three words are as intermingled with the most famous New York concerts as “Ron Delsener Presents‘ – the words that preceded the name of every major act that was playing New York in advertisements across the city. The film Ron Delsener Presents is equal parts all-access pass to New York’s greatest gigs, as told by the legendary concert promoter and impresario Ron Delsener, and a portrait of a relentless music business pioneer who can’t stop Hustling. Even today. Featuring Billy Joel, Patti Smith, Bruce Springsteen, Steven Van Zandt, Jon Bon Jovi, Art Garfunkel, Paul Simon, Gene Simmons, Lenny Kaye, and many others. This riveting doc is “not just a biography, nor is it purely a historical document. It’s a patchwork of stories and moments, the peaks and valleys of a singular figure, backed up by some other iconic voices from the world of music, and set to some of the greatest live performances of all time.” Enjoy.

Here’s the official trailer (+ poster) for Jake Sumner’s doc Ron Delsener Presents, direct from YouTube:

Ron Delsener Presents Doc Poster

In a career spanning 60 years, concert promoter & impresario Ron Delsener is the one name behind virtually every major contemporary music concert in New York City for generations. From promoting the Beatles at Forest Hills Tennis Stadium, to bringing David Bowie to Carnegie Hall and Patti Smith to the Palladium, to somehow convincing Simon & Garfunkel to bury the hatchet and play the biggest concert of all time in Central Park, Delsener was behind it all. Through a portrait of a mercurial and relentless showman, this film takes us behind-the-curtain through the last half century of the live music business, chronicling the tactics that drove live performance from disorganized, lo-fi nightclubs to international tours, arenas, stadiums, and, eventually, into a global empire. A transformation that Delsener is in many ways responsible for. Working in a business he helped to create Ron Delsener now in the later stages of his life, still has his hand in the game. Sure, he could stop – he maybe even should but Ron doesn’t know how.

Ron Delsener Presents is a documentary made by American filmmaker Jake Sumner, making his feature directorial debut after many other award-winning short films and commercials previously. It’s produced by Margaret Munzer Loeb, James A. Smith, & Jake Sumner. This initially premiered at the 2023 Tribeca Film Festival in NYC a few years ago. Abramorama will debut Sumner’s Ron Delsener Presents doc in select US theaters starting May 30th, 2025 coming soon. For more info, visit the film’s official site. Want to watch?

Thrilling Behind-the-Scenes Featurette on Making ‘Andor’ – Season 2

“We must stand together, or we will be crushed.” Disney has revealed another featurette video for Andor – Season 2, the return of this acclaimed “revolutionary” Star Wars series about Cassian Andor becoming a fighter (a prequel to Rogue One: A Star Wars Story). The series is already airing but will continue dropping episodes into June this summer – they’re still trying to get more people hooked and watching. As the horizon of war draws near, Cassian becomes a key player in the Rebel Alliance. Everyone will be tested and, as the stakes rise, the betrayals, sacrifices and conflicting agendas will become profound (view a full trailer here). Andor – Season 2 stars Diego Luna back as Cassian, Stellan Skarsgård, Genevieve O’Reilly, Denise Gough, Kyle Soller, Adria Arjona (who you also know from Hit Man!), Faye Marsay, Varada Sethu, Elizabeth Dulau, plus Alan Tudyk back as K-2SO, with Ben Mendelsohn & Forest Whitaker as Saw Gerrera. This video focuses on the production design and world building – including filming at the iconic “Ciudad de las Artes y las Ciencias” (City of Arts and Sciences) in Valencia, Spain. Which is also where many sci-fi movies have filmed before. And don’t forget to watch the latest Andor episodes streaming on Disney+.

Here’s the “World of Andor” promo featurette for Lucasfilm’s series Andor – Season 2, from YouTube:

Everyone will be tested and, as the stakes rise, the betrayals, sacrifices and conflicting agendas will become profound. Rife with political intrigue, danger, tension, and high stakes, the thriller is a prequel to Rogue One, about a heroic band of rebels who steal the plans to the Empire’s weapon of mass destruction — the Death Star — setting the stage for the original 1977 film, A New Hope. Andor is created by Tony Gilroy (writer of The Devil’s Advocate, Armageddon, Bait, Proof of Life, The Bourne Series, Michael Clayton, Duplicity, State of Play, The Great Wall, Rogue One, Beirut). Season 2 is written by Tony Gilroy, Beau Willimon, Dan Gilroy, Tom Bissell. With episodes directed by Ariel Kleiman, Janus Metz, Alonso Ruizpalacios. Executive produced by Tony Gilroy, Kathleen Kennedy, Sanne Wohlenberg, Diego Luna, Luke Hull, and John Gilroy. Disney has debuted Andor – Season 2 streaming on Disney+ starting April 22nd, 2025. Official Trailer for ‘The Rhythm’ Movie About a Black Hockey Players

“We can win with something the other teams don’t have – and that’s The Rhythm.” Samuel Goldwyn Films has revealed the official trailer for an indie hockey movie called The Rhythm, formerly known as Black Ice: The Rhythm – the first film made by director Gerald McBride. I’d really wish they kept that original title Black Ice, because this other one does not really do much. It’s the inspirational story of a Black hockey player who is sentenced to community service at a local hockey rink, where he leads his misfit hockey team to victory in a seemingly bigoted sport & league. Robert helps transform a group of roller skaters into a championship-caliber ice-hockey team by harnessing their natural talent & passion, but they must confront racism and discrimination in the predominantly white world of the sport. Arthur Cartwright stars with Jaclene Wilk, Devante Jamar Adams, Carlos Faison, Jovonn Crittendon, Shawnta McDougle. This is pretty much just a Mighty Ducks remake, which is fine, just wish they’d mix up the story somehow. Also a chance to remind everyone of the Black hockey documentary called Black Ice – available on Hulu now.

Here’s the official trailer (+ poster) for Gerald McBride’s film The Rhythm, direct from YouTube:

The Rhythm Poster

Fresh out of a three-year prison stint, Robert faces an unexpected challenge: forming a hockey team in an all-black urban neighborhood with a neglected ice rink. Under the watchful eye of his supervisor, Olivia, he must transform roller-skating prodigies from a nearby rink into ice hockey stars. As he guides these novice players, the ice melts away barriers, forging an unlikely team destined for greatness. The Rhythm, formerly known as Black Ice: The Rhythm, is both written & directed by indie filmmaker Gerald McBride, making his feature directorial debut with this project after working in radio for decades and only watching a hockey game a decade ago. It’s produced by Wes Briscoe and Ashlee C. Woolridge. This initially premiered in select theaters in Detroit, Michigan and around the area last year (read more). Goldwyn Films will debut McBride’s The Rhythm direct-to-VOD to watch starting May 16th, 2025. Details on the film’s official site.

Brosnan & Jackson & Lessard in Western ‘The Unholy Trinity’ Trailer

“Every town has its heroes and villains… Don’t get caught on the wrong side of that coin.” Easier said than done. Roadside Attractions has unveiled the official trailer for a gritty new western titled The Unholy Trinity, lead by an impressive cast. Yet another western thriller that most people probably have never heard of before – they keep churning these out. “The past never stays buried.” Pierce Brosnan, Samuel L. Jackson, and Brandon Lessard star in the western epic The Unholy Trinity, riding into theaters in June. Buried secrets of an 1870s Montana town spark violence when a young man returns to reclaim his legacy and is caught between a sheriff determined to maintain order and this stranger hell-bent on destroying it. Described as “an exciting blend of action, suspense, and western grit.” The cast includes Veronica Ferres, Gianni Capaldi, Q’orianka Kilcher, David Arquette, Ethan Peck, Tim Daly, Anthony J. Sharpe, Beau Linnell, Isabella Ruby, Stephanie Hernandez, & Eadie Gray. This western only looks as good as it does because Sam Jackson seems like he was having a total blast making it, letting his dark side loose.
