Just when I thought Ryan Coogler’s reunion with Michael B. Jordan couldn’t be any more hyped, it receives another glowing endorsement. Jamie Lee Curtis took to social media after seeing Sinners to remind us what actual big-screen filmmaking looks like. The fan-favorite actress had the pleasure of screening the film in 70mm IMAX. And, quite frankly, I’ve never wanted Michael B. Jordan’s head to look so large!
While she’s admitted to not being pumped for upcoming horror movies, the longtime Scream Queen is a lifelong champion of theatrical experiences and bold original storytelling. She shared her Sinners experience on Instagram just as Warner Bros. announced a limited 70mm IMAX re-release of the 2025 movie schedule entry. Check out her post, which includes an awesome photo:
Sinners’ IMAX-boosted box office run has been impressive, so it’s wonderful to see that Ryan Coogler’s critically acclaimed vampire film is heading back to premium screens from May 15 to May 21, because audiences can’t seem to get enough of it.
I’m so jealous that Curtis caught the flick in all its “IMAX” glory. Via her caption, Curtis praised the power of the format and the artistry behind the film:
I can’t stop thinking about it. Watching the movie in 70 mm IMAX had a profound effect. It’s the cinematic art form on the grandest scale. Great art makes you think and want to dig deeper and learn more about what you’ve been shown. The complexities and intricacies of the filmmaking and every choice from the history and story to the visuals to the music all stay with you way, way, way after seeing it. I’m going to see it again and again. I’m thrilled for all of the artists who made this film and the confidence the audience has shown and the appreciation for the originality and artistry in every frame.
Ryan Coogler’s Sinners stars Michael B. Jordan in a dual role as twin brothers trying to start over in their hometown, only to confront a sinister force tied to their past. The film has already grossed $122.5 million domestically and $161.6 million worldwide against a $90 million budget. Notably, IMAX alone accounted for 20% of its opening weekend revenue, which is proof that audiences aren’t just showing up, they’re seeking the most immersive experience possible.
The upcoming re-release will hit iconic IMAX locations, including Los Angeles’s City Walk Stadium 19, New York’s Lincoln Square, and Toronto’s Colossus IMAX. According to Variety’s reporting, Warner Bros. cited “overwhelming popular and critical response” as the driving force behind the decision.

With a stacked cast, including Hailee Steinfeld, Wunmi Mosaku, Delroy Lindo and more, and production led by Zinzi Coogler and longtime collaborators from Black Panther, Sinners is both visually daring and thematically rich. And, as Jamie Lee Curtis made clear, it’s the kind of movie that lingers long after the screen has faded to black.
If you can do so, you absolutely should make the effort to see Sinners, or see it again, in 70mm IMAX. Because sometimes, bigger really is better. As for Jamie Lee Curtis’ upcoming project, the upcoming Freakier Friday, it’s set to hit theaters on August 8, 2025.
After months of reports and various developments, the trial of Sean “P. Diddy” Combs is set to begin this coming week. The 55-year-old rapper stands accused of several federal charges, including sex trafficking and transportation to engage in prostitution and racketeering. In the aftermath of Combs’ arrest in September 2024, only a handful of stars have addressed his situation head on. Now, we can add comedian Bill Bellamy to that list, as he weighed in on the potential ramifications of the legal woes.
What Did Bill Bellamy Say About Diddy?
Sean Combs’ rise to prominence unfolded during the ‘90s, at which point he burst onto the scene with his debut album No Way Out. During that decade, he rose through the ranks, collaborating with massive talent like Faith Evans and the Notorious B.I.G. and even launching Sean John. Bill Bellamy, like many others during that time, witnessed Combs’ ascension and its impact. So it’s surreal for him to watch the mogul’s legal problems play out, and he doesn’t think there’s any way for the rapper to salvage his persona:
So let’s say, even if he were to get out of it, his image is smashed. So it’s like, ‘Damn, man. You could do all this good, and do one thing, and people never feel the same.’ They never look at you the same. So that’s the part that’s gonna hurt the culture to me.

Diddy’s arrest came months after he became embroiled in a federal investigation involving sex-trafficking, which involved his California and Florida-based homes being raided. In addition to the federal charges he’s facing (for which he faces up to life in prison), he’s also at the center of a flurry of lawsuits. In those suits, various plaintiffs have accused him of sexual assault, trafficking and other alleged offenses. Amid his interview with The Breakfast Club, which is on YouTube, Bill Bellamy shared more about the magnitude of Diddy’s issues:
He’s a huge part of our culture. There’s very people that did what Puff did for hip hop and the culture. Very few people have done what Jay-Z’s done. How many rappers you know — you know a lot of rappers, but you don’t know a lot of rappers that became billionaires. You don’t know a lot of rappers that came out the street, that you seen on the block go from being on the block to being on the TV show with you, from that to doing world tours to becoming a mogul. That’s a crazy ride.
famous friends have remained mum during this turbulent time in his life. After allegations began to surface in 2024, though, one of Combs’ former rivals, Suge Knight, did speak out. The Death Row Records founder collectively referred to the situation as “a bad day for the culture.” Knight’s thoughts also extended to Combs’ kids and how they would have to grapple with his circumstances.
Fellow rapper Ray J weighed in as well, noting that when it comes to celebrities who’ve shaped the culture, “it’s important to acknowledge the mistakes they’ve made.” The music industry veteran – whose actual name is Ray Norwood Jr. – also emphasized that such icons need to be held accountable for their actions but that this also isn’t a time to “tear anybody down.” As a whole, Norwood sees this as “a time for this industry and everybody that’s going through this and seeing this to learn from the mistakes and create a roadmap for the future of the industry together…”
The 2016 footage of Sean Combs assaulting former girlfriend Cassie Ventura also drew a bevvy of responses from hip hop veterans, with Slim Thug being one of them. When responding, the “3 Kings” rapper said he “can’t stand behind this” and that he’d “take this L.”

Since his arrest, P. Diddy has been held in the Metropolitan Detention Center, which is located in Brooklyn. His trial is set to begin on Monday, May 5, with jury selection set to get underway at that point. The main focus of this entire situation is on the alleged offenses the rapper committed but, as comments from Bill Bellamy and others suggest, his legacy also remains on the minds of those who’ve known him and his work.
After Gerry Turner met Theresa Nist on The Golden Bachelor, the two were quick to tie the knot, letting America watch their unhinged wedding event live on ABC just five months after they first met. Three months later, the Golden couple announced their divorce. Now that Turner has found a new partner, will they too be racing down the aisle? Apparently, getting married again is a subject that has come up.
Gerry Turner went public with Lana Sutton in April, and their romance seems to have developed pretty quickly. The 73-year-old is fully smitten and has said Sutton made him believe in love at first sight; however, they’ve only been dating for a little over a month, so any “serious discussion” about if they want to make it official in the eyes of God and the government is “down the road a bit.” The Golden alum told People:
But I do think we’ve both come to the comfortable agreement that we both want a long-term committed permanent relationship, and I think we’re both feeling like we’re there that we’re in that now. It’s kind of two different things, but they are closely related.
2025 TV schedule for Grant Ellis’ Bachelor finale, Gerry Turner even apparently got advice from his runner-up Leslie Fhima and The Golden Bachelorette Joan Vassos to tell Theresa Nist about his new romance before it became public.
This comes as the new couple has been “fantasy house shopping” — presumably in Indiana where they’re both from — as well as doing some traveling. In fact, they’re currently planning to go abroad this summer to London and Paris. Gerry Turner said:

We’ve been together every weekend. She’s retired, so she’s not tied down. On a moment’s notice, she could come here or if I go there. There’s no encumbrances with work, so there’s just an awful lot of pluses that are helping us along.
I’m sensing some subtle shade being thrown at Theresa Nist, who apparently didn’t want to quit her job and move to the cornfields of Indiana.
Regardless of whether or not they ever slip bands onto each other’s ring fingers, it sounds like Gerry Turner is not rushing the decision this time around. Hopefully, he can take what he learned from his public relationship with Theresa Nist to ensure Lana Sutton is the lasting love he’s been looking for.
I believe that Paul Rudd is one of the most versatile actors on the planet. He broke into the movie business in 1995, starring in both a classic high school comedy (Clueless) and a horror movie (Halloween: The Curse of Michael Myers), and is now known as the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s Ant-Man, whom he is reprising in the upcoming Marvel movie, Avengers: Doomsday. Plus, like many other professionals of his craft, he has also been known to perform in theatrical productions.
Based on his experiences in the theatre that he shared with hosts Will Arnett, Jason Bateman, and Sean Hayes on their podcast, Smartless, it appears that the artistic medium is a breeding ground for anecdotes that blow almost anything to come from “Hollyweird” out of the water. I mean, for instance, a death occurred during one of Rudd’s plays, but that is not even the most insane story that he shared on this podcast episode, as far as I am concerned.
However, it is the tale I will recall first, below…

An Audience Member Died During Paul Rudd’s Performance In The Last Night Of Ballyhoo
upcoming A24 movie, Friendship, has performed in the theatre many a time. However, Bateman (who co-starred with Rudd in the 2006 comedy, The Ex – read CinemaBlend’s review here) really wants to hear about anything “weird” that happened while he was onstage, which prompts him to bring up a time when an audience member passed away in the venue.
It was in the late ‘90s when Paul Rudd was originating the role of Joe in Alfred Uhry’s World War II-era period dramedy, The Last Night of Ballyhoo, during which one gentleman in the crowd, for reasons the actor does not specify, died near the end of the show. However, according to Rudd, no one seemed to notice until after the play concluded and the attendees had left their seats and made their way out of the building… save one person. Rudd himself would only be informed of what took place after the fact when the deceased had been removed from the premises.
acclaimed A24 movie called A Different Man, in this situation. I can only imagine how frustrating it must have been to have his own signature moment of the night suddenly interrupted like that.

However, the conversation dramatically shifts when you discover what the cause of the commotion was. Rudd continues and explains what really happened here:
And then, after this scene, I have to rush over to the wings to do a costume change, and I asked the stage manager, I said, ‘What the hell’s happened? What happened out there?’… Somebody was drunk and threw up over the balcony, and it puked onto about 10 different people.
Now, I cannot help but feel especially sorry for the audience members who must have been frightened by Shannon’s infuriated reaction, considering how they were already traumatized by being regurgitated on from above.
starring in the film adaptation) opposite Academy Award winner Rachel Weisz, that makes even that and the story of the dead audience member seem tame.
Once again, I will let Rudd describe what took place below:
I was lying on top of a bed… and I was wearing boxer shorts and a T-shirt and, all of a sudden – this had never happened before – I heard the audience laughing, and I’m like, ‘What is going on?’ I realized it’s because I was lying on the bed, I had my leg up… and I realized my balls were hanging out.
As if the embarrassing story could not be any funnier, soon after, Will Arnett cannot help but point out the hilarious irony that the audience was given a full view of Rudd’s globes during a show called The SHAPE of Things. The former Arrested Development Gob Bluth actor doubles down on his joke by adding that the production’s poster should have been a close-up image of Rudd’s privates.
Rudd had one other brief, but wild, theatre story involving a person who lost control of their bowels and “went to the bathroom in the fourth row,” which the actor quickly became aware of due to its scent. He was also courteous enough to let the Smartless hosts know that this event and the audience member’s death were two separate incidents.
Now, after learning about these unbelievable stories, all I can say is that I hope Paul Rudd continues to do more theatre. He seems to be a magnet for intriguing events occurring on or near the stage, and I cannot imagine anything as amusing as these happening on the set of Avengers: Doomsday, which is now in production. Then again, stranger things have happened, so we will just have to see.
Disney is looking for a reset with its upcoming Marvel movies. The latest flick Thunderbolts* came out this weekend, and while the MCU ensemble film is getting positive reviews, its projected opening still falls beneath many of Marvel’s most beloved projects. The company once felt untouchable, churning out multiple films a year that garnered crowds and built off of each other. After the major success of Avengers: Endgame however, the storytelling style grew more confusing. Adding mediocre Disney+ shows into the mix made everything feel even more bogged down. Apparently, corporate strategy is to blame, and three words can be credited for Marvel running in one direction.
Many people have wondered why Kevin Feige and co. made so many Disney+ shows mistakes in the wake of Endgame, and now we seemingly have an answer. The man who has been the creative force behind the MCU for over 15 years was reportedly directed by Disney CEO Bob Iger to prioritize expanding the MCU once streaming content made for audiences with a Disney+ subscription became a priority. “Expansion, expansion, expansion” became the motto that Iger bandied about in this era. The three words that then guided the more recent MCU?
Per the Wall Street Journal, Feige, wanting to be a “good corporate citizen,” obliged.

What The Disney+ Expansion Meant For Marvel Audiences
Secret Invasion was absolutely panned by critics. She-Hulk: Attorney at Law did better in reviews, but still was heavily criticized for feeling unfinished. Even shows that garnered good reviews like Ms. Marvel, had poor viewership because there was simply “too much Marvel content” leading up to its release.
As a result, some people who were previously fans weren’t tuning in, and the mass amount of material and “expansion” of the universe felt like homework for many in order to understand the next film. The Ms. Marvel example is a great example of this. Few people saw the Disney+ series, so when Iman Vellani was re-introduced in The Marvels, there was a lot of backstory left to impart. The movie lost money.
While this seems like a simple explanation for dwindling audiences and sometimes poor quality — and something easy for Marvel to point to that can be fixed with a different approach — I’d argue there’s more at play here. Marvel may be pulling back on their output, but they don’t really seem to be adjusting the tone.
The “joke, joke, action scene, plot information scene, joke, joke,” script structure and format that worked for years just isn’t working anymore. Every movie sounds exactly the same, and the characters all talk similarly. How much of that ties into Feige’s input remains to be seen.

There was something refreshing and charming about the Robert Downey Jr. sarcasm and charm infused in the early Marvel films, but Marvel seems to be taking this and applying it to every movie and character. I think this is becoming tired, and leading to a “seen one, seen them all” mentality.
What’s Next For Marvel?
Nevertheless, Marvel is at least scaling back. The studio is still releasing several projects in 2025, with three being films on the 2025 movie release calendar. However, going forward there’s not as much planned, with the focus being mainly Avengers: Doomsday and Avengers: Secret Wars.
As for a tonal shift, I doubt this is on the horizon, especially with Robert Downey Jr. returning to the franchise as Doctor Doom in the slated new Avengers films. I guess we’ll just have to see if limiting expansion will be enough to win back Marvel’s once loyal audience.
If you’re a fan of the original Jurassic Park trilogy and have felt underwhelmed by the recent dinosaur flicks, the upcoming Jurassic World Rebirth might be the revival you’ve been waiting for. With a fresh cast, new creative direction, and a heavy dose of Spielberg nostalgia, the 2025 movie schedule release is meant to suggest one big thing: this isn’t just another sequel. It’s a return to form. With that, cast members Scarlett Johansson and Jonathan Bailey are among those hyping the flick, and I’m getting excited!
Scarlett Johansson and Jonathan Bailey, along with screenwriter David Koepp, offered exciting insights while speaking with Empire Magazine. The group conveyed how Rebirth is intentionally echoing the tone, style and thrills of Steven Spielberg’s 1993 classic. Johansson told the outlet:
It hearkens back to the first one. It has a lot of good jump-scares, and the stakes are high.
childhood obsession with Jurassic Park, giving her opinion considerable weight. Her description of the series reflects the grounded, suspense-filled storytelling that fans like me have been longing for since the original raptor-and-jeep days.
Bailey, best known for Bridgerton and quickly becoming one of Hollywood’s go-to leading men, echoed her sentiments. According to him:
It really does feel that it’s welcoming people to really celebrate the original film.
And that’s no accident. From the jungle-drenched setting to a more restrained use of CGI, Rebirth seems almost meticulously scientifically engineered to tap into the awe and fear that defined the first installments.
That back-to-nature approach isn’t accidental. David Koepp, who penned both Jurassic Park and The Lost World, is back on scripting duties. Since he was announced to be returning, Koepp has been clear about the film’s mission, and he really emphasized it during this latest interview:
We wanted to recapture the idea that we are in the dinosaurs’ environment. The last few movies were exploring the idea of, ‘Hey, what would it be like if they were in our environment?’ They did that very well, and now we wanted to explore how it felt to go back to theirs.
That shift in setting and tone has me, a hardcore fan, buzzing!. The last few entries in the franchise leaned heavily into action movie spectacle, sometimes at the expense of the slow-burn suspense that made Spielberg’s original installment (which is one of the best ’90s movies) so unforgettable. By taking the story back to a remote, dinosaur-dominated island, Rebirth isn’t just pushing reset, it’s digging back into the DNA of what made this franchise great in the first place.

In short, this marks a distinct tonal shift. Gone are the urban chase sequences and sci-fi mega-facilities. In their place? Thick jungle, looming suspense, and a return to the primal fear of being prey. If you’ve been longing for the sense of scale and danger that defined Spielberg’s original, the next installment is shaping up to deliver the goods.
Want more proof this reboot is rooted in reverence? This isn’t the first time Koepp has compared Jurassic World Rebirth to Spielberg’s OG flick, doubling down on the idea that this isn’t just a new chapter, it’s a spiritual sequel.
Jurassic World Rebirth stomps into cinemas on July 2. If the buzz is right, we’re finally getting the follow-up fans have been waiting for, one that knows exactly where it came from and why that matters. In the meantime, you can rent or buy the original three Jurassic Park films as well as the World trilogy on Prime Video.
