The Sex and the City revival, And Just Like That…, is officially ending after its third season, which is currently streamable with an HBO Max subscription. So fans will soon have to say goodbye to Carrie Bradshaw, Miranda Hobbes, and Charlotte York once again. While there’s a two-part finale has been planned for the show, it’s still heartbreaking. As fans cope with the news, Sarah Jessica Parker, Cynthia Nixon, and Kristin Davis penned sweet messages, and they make the cancellation news feel all the more real.
SJP is quite close to(and envious of) Carrie Bradshaw, the character she’s been synonymous with for nearly three decades now. With that, Parker shared a lengthy message on Instagram alongside a compilation video of her time working on Sex and the City days as well as And Just Like That… The actress counted off the elements that were vital to Carrie’s characterization and also said that Miranda, Samantha, and Charlotte are the best friends for Carrie to have. Parker then reflected on the experience that has made quite an impact on her life, and I’m trying not to tear up:
Carrie Bradshaw has dominated my professional heartbeat for 27 years. I think I have loved her most of all. I know others have loved her just as I have. Been frustrated, condemned and rooted for her. The symphony of all those emotions has been the greatest soundtrack and most consequential companion. Therefore the most sentimental and profound gratitude and lifetime of debt. To you all. MPK and I together recognized, as we have in the past, this chapter complete. AJLT was all joy, adventure, the greatest kind of hard work alongside the most extraordinary talent of 380 that includes all the brilliant actors who joined us.
Instagram as she reflected on her time portraying the fan-favorite Miranda. The pictures she included are both actual stills from SATC and AJLT as well as behind-the-scenes photos from both productions. Like others, Nixon is also seemingly having a hard time coming to terms with the end of the franchise. While her message isn’t nearly as long as her co-star’s, it’s no less emotional:
message is also brief, and she didn’t share any photos from her time playing the role of Charlotte. She did, however, repost the statement from showrunner, writer and director Michael Patrick King, who initially revealed that And Just Like That… would end. Davis explained how much the show means to her and also shouted out the cast, crew and many “loyal” fans:
I am profoundly sad. I love our whole beautiful cast and crew. 400 artisans working so hard on our show with deep love. And to our loyal fans, we love you forever and ever. ❤️
And Just Like That… premiered in 2021, over 17 years after Sex and the City ended. I can say that as a fan, it’s been wonderful to revisit these characters over the past few years. For that reason, it’s certainly hard to say goodbye once again. There is a clear silver lining here, though, and it’s that the cast and crew have the opportunity to end the show on their own terms. That’s much better than a straight-up cancellation, even if it means the show’s run will end after only three seasons. Still, fans were able to see some of their favorite SATCcharacters return, even if for only a brief time.
Additional information on the upcoming two-part finale has not been revealed, but I’ll surely be tuning in when it finally airs amid the 2025 TV schedule. In the meantime, fans can watch Season 3 of AJLTin full on HBO Max, along with the first two seasons as a way of preparing for the final installments.

Aww, I love seeing Jamie Lee Curtis and Lindsay Lohan hand-in-hand, head-to-head in the OG photo like a mother/daughter pairing would be. Their effortless chemistry made Freaky Friday as memorable as it was, and that’s thanks to their heartwarming moments and remarkable comedic timing that came when they switched bodies.
Getting to see Jamie Lee Curtis and Lindsay Lohan back in action for the sequel is what I look forward to seeing in the new movie the most. The former child star told Jimmy Fallon that the idea of Freakier Friday began when Curtis was asked about it while promoting Halloween (2018), and that sparked questions for Lohan, too. Given the mother-daughter chemistry the pair had in the 2003 Disney flick, it’s no wonder fans were rooting for this movie to happen.
Now, the movie is almost here, and Lindsay Lohan is back on her red carpet A-game.

At the UK premiere, she went full method-dresser, wearing a lavender dress that looked just like the one Anna wore in the final wedding scene of Freaky Friday. And that cute little guitar purse was the perfect homage to her character’s rocker roots.
Meanwhile, at the Los Angeles and New Mexico red carpet launches, Lindsay Lohan was fully embracing Barbiecore, wearing different shades of pink gowns. It was a playful nod to Y2K fashion that showed her mature, glamorous style while still having fun with each look.
Lindsay Lohan may have cringed at the black eyeliner she wore at the OG Freaky Friday premiere, but it perfectly captured the edgy, early-2000s teen spirit she embodied at the time. Fashion is always a good way to travel back in time and reflect on the trends, moods, and attitudes of a particular generation. Now that Lohan is an adult, I’m certain she’s got plenty of classy, poised looks she’ll adorn at future premieres.

At the time of writing this in August 2025, there is no set release date for the new Judge Dredd film, which isn’t that surprising. The news was only really just confirmed in July that a movie was officially in the works, so it would be pretty shocking if we already had a release date announced.
2026 movie schedule, but I would say we’ll be more likely to get it in 2027. Honestly, that’s great, because that just means 2027 will have another great comic adaptation alongside the many other comic book movies coming out that year, like the upcoming Avengers: Secret Warsand more.
Taika Waititi Is Directing

Now this is the big piece of news – according to The Hollywood Reporter, in July 2025, it was confirmed that Taika Waititi is going to be directing the new Judge Dredd film.
This is significant news. The director has made some of the best films of the last decade, many of which have gone on to become favorites among cinephiles. One of his biggest, Jojo Rabbit, earned six nominations at the Academy Awards and won Best Adapted Screenplay (Waititi wrote the film).
Besides that, he also directed Thor: Ragnarok and Thor: Love and Thunder, as well as What We Do In The Shadows, Next Goal Wins, Hunt for the Wilderpeople, Boy, and Eagle vs. Shark. He also worked in television, including the TV adaptation of the aforementioned Shadows, and directed episodes of The Mandalorian (one of the best shows on Disney+), Wellington Paranormal, Time Bandits, Our Flag Means Death, and more.

The Dredd Cast

So, as you can expect, there is no set cast yet for the Judge Dredd movie, mainly because it was only announced about a month ago, as of August 2025.
It’s not like this film won’t be likely to bring us stars, though. There have been two big screen adaptations before this one – one in 1995, which wasn’t well-received, and another in 2012, directed by Pete Travis, titled Dredd.
The first film had Sylvester Stallone in the titular role, but also actors like Diane Lane, Rob Schneider, Armand Assante, and more. The 2012 film had The Boys star Karl Urban as Judge Dredd (which, honestly, is great casting), as well as stars like Olivia Thirlby, Wood Harris, Game of Thrones cast member Lena Headey, and more.
I’m sure that it won’t be long before we see some significant updates on casting in this film – and I’ll be ready for whoever gets the coveted titular role.
What Is The Dredd Movie About?

The story for the new Judge Dredd movie has been kept under wraps. We only know a few details from the Hollywood Reporter article above.
According to the pitch for the film, it’s said that the it will draw more inspiration from the comics than the previous screen adaptations. It will expand the world, as well as the dark humor that the comics are known for, and cater to today’s sci-fi fans.
But that’s not it – the film is basically looking to create a new Dredd universe, so that there’s the possibility of using newly created characters to headline potential sequels.You thought there were enough upcoming Marvel movies? Think of a world with a potential Dredd franchise. Now that’s awesome.
What Is Judge Dredd?

If you don’t know what the comic is about, Judge Dredd isn’t from a comic called ‘Judge Dredd.’ The character appeared in the 1970s British anthology comic series 2000 AD. He’s a police officer living in a dystopian future where officers are allowed to become ‘judge, jury, and executioner, essentially.’
While there are plenty who would use this power to their advantage, Dredd took it seriously and took out literally anyone who went against his moral code. The entire franchise is more of a satirical look at the justice system around the world, but it features and intriguing story and some intense illustrated moments of violence.
From there, the series became huge, spawning an entire franchise that went into books, video games, and more, especially in the U.K., where the comics originated.
Drew Pearce Is Writing The Script

The last official thing that we know about the upcoming Judge Dredd film is that Drew Pearce is writing the script, which was confirmed by The Hollywood Reporter article above. Apparently, both he and Waititi are huge fans of the franchise and have been looking for a chance to work together for years – the new film was their opportunity.
If Pearce’s name sounds familiar, it could be because he’s written scripts for some notable films over the last decade. Some of his most well-known works includes The Fall Guy, Hobbs & Shaw, Iron Man 3, and more. He’s also going to be writing the script for the upcoming film The Thomas Crown Affair, according to Deadline.
Okay, this already has me so excited for what’s to come, and I know I’m going to be counting down the days until I get to hear more about this film. Judge Dredd is coming back, and I am not prepared.

Meghan Markle’s first steps into lifestyle started with her blog The Tig, which ran from 2014 to 2017. After creating her cooking brand As Ever, the Suits alum headlined her 2025 Netflix series, With Love, Meghan, where she shared her personal tips and how-tos on cooking, gardening, and hosting.

Unfortunately, Meghan Markle has received her share of criticism from those who watched With Love, Meghan. Widespread complaints about the Netflix series had one critic saying it was “out of touch” using cookware that was too fancy for the average cook, and celeb chef Jameston Stocks said the show was “painful to watch.” Despite the criticism, the Duchess refused to let any negativity bother her and felt she was being her authentic self.
While Martha Stewart doesn’t know Meghan Markle’s lifestyle brand too well, that doesn’t mean she’s not aware of Gwyneth Paltrow’s Goop. The Martha Stewart Living publisher made sure to sing her praises to the Oscar winner:

The highly anticipated Spider-Man: Brand New Day is still quite a ways off, but fans have already received some sweet teases as of late. On Friday, as part of Spidey Day, Sony Pictures released a brief clip that provided a look at the new costume that Holland will be sporting in the film. Now, fans have been graced with an official behind-the-scenes video that actually shows Holland wearing the outfit while on set and asking a question. On that note, I’m really starting to get hyped up for the fourth film in Holland’s superhero saga.
Early Saturday morning, the official Spider–Man movie account shared the aforementioned video to Instagram. It shows Tom Holland apparently getting himself psyched up before getting to work on the upcoming Marvel movie. While the actor is initially seen from a distance, he eventually runs closer to the camera to reveal himself wearing his costume. He then asks his collaborators a query that could also be asked of the fans. The British actor simply says, “We ready?” Check out the clip below:
Production on Brand New Day is only just kicking off, but this short video is a great way to get fans hyped as work begins to commence overseas. The sight of the leading man in his new superhero duds is just too cool not to geek out over. It was long hoped that he’d keep the comic book-accurate costume his character sported during the final moments of No Way Home. Seeing him in that suit makes the notion of the film starting production feel all the more real – as does the quick question he asks.
