Arnold Schwarzenegger Reveals His Highest-Paying Movie

Arnold Schwarzenegger is revealing which of his movies earned him the biggest paycheck, and no, it wasn’t The Terminator.

The actor made a recent appearance on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen, where he shared that his highest-paying film was actually his 1988 pic Twins.

“It was Twins because we had gotten no money, no salary,” Schwarzenegger explained as host Andy Cohen interjected, “You got a piece of the backend.”

Schwarzenegger added, “Exactly. And it was fantastic. We went all the way to the bank with that one.”

While the FUBAR star wouldn’t reveal exactly how much he made from Twins, he confirmed it was definitely over $40 million, adding, “It was more than in any movie I’ve ever made.”

The buddy comedy, which also starred Danny DeVito, followed a physically perfect but innocent man who goes searching for his long-lost twin brother, who turns out to be a short, womanizing, small-time crook.

When Cohen also asked the actor if he had “ownership” in a Twins sequel, Schwarzenegger informed the host that the sequel would have been called Triplets and also starred Eddie Murphy, but that director Ivan Reitman died “just before we wanted to start shooting the movie.”

Schwarzenegger has previously shared that he initially took no salary for Twins, because he decided to bet on himself and prove to Hollywood studios that he can also do comedies, not just action films. It ultimately worked in his favor, as the low-budget film ended up being one of the most profitable backend deals, bringing in more than $200 million worldwide.
