The 2025 movie schedule is about to unleash a film that could very well mark an important milestone for wrestler-turned-actor Dwayne Johnson. His starring role as MMA legend Mark Kerr in the upcoming biopic The Smashing Machine, saw the man also known as WWE Superstar The Rock getting a 15 minute standing ovation at the Venice Film Festival, and word is also floating around that he may nab his first Oscar nomination for the role. Now, Kerr has opened up about visiting the set during filming, and his son’s emotional reaction to seeing Johnson portray him.
What Did Mark Kerr Say About Being On The Smashing Machine Set As Dwayne Johnson Played Him?
There are only a precious few people who will ever know what it’s like to have a film made about them (especially since such things frequently happen after said subject is no longer with us), but now early MMA/UFC fighter Mark Kerr is one of those people. Those who’ve already seen The Smashing Machine have lauded Dwayne Johnson’s “scarily unstable” performance as Kerr, while those he worked with, like co-star Emily Blunt, have talked about how he was able to “completely disappear” into the real-life character of Kerr.
Sports Illustrated that it was, indeed, a trip. He remembered:
willing to do things like “rip your rib cage open” to portray a living person’s story, and it sounds a bit like Kerr experienced something similarly tough when seeing Johnson as him for the first time. He continued, and noted that his son had an even stronger response after watching the movie:
The upcoming A24 movie hits theaters on October 3, so we’ll all be able to see how The Smashing Machine affects us very soon.

The revelation that Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban are divorcing after nearly two decades together shocked many. The couple, who have two teenage children, seemed to be as solid a celebrity couple as any, and more so than many. While there are few details regarding what, if anything, specifically happened to cause the split, the couple now has to navigate a celebrity divorce.
As happens when any major stars split, there is a lot of property and a lot of money that needs to be separated between the two parties. A decent chunk of that money could be coming Keith Urban’s way, due to a stipulation in the couple’s prenuptial agreement that’s being called the “cocaine clause.”
Keith Urban’s Pre-Nup “Cocaine Clause”
Hello Magazine is reporting that, in an attempt to help keep Urban sober, a clause was allegedly placed in their pre-nup that stated that Kidman would pay Urban $600,000 for every year he remained sober during their marriage.
E! News has apparently seen the divorce petition, which goes into significant detail about how many of the couple’s assets will be split, and there is no mention of such a large payout to Urban. In fact, there’s almost nothing changing hands between Urban and Kidman at all.
According to the divorce petition, there will be no spousal or child support payments. Kidman is set to be the custodial parent, with the two children, aged 17 and 14, spending 59 days of the year with their dad.
Urban and Kidman are each keeping the cars that are in their names and their own personal items like clothing and jewelry, and the pair have already come to an agreement regarding the splitting up of shared items like furniture, appliances, and art.
Considering that it looks like the former couple have been working on these decisions for some time, and have come to an agreement on many things, and that there’s no mention of Kidman paying Urban any money at all, it appears that even if the pre-nup clause is genuine, the pair have seemingly decided not to enforce it.
Fans have been looking for details that may explain the couple’s split. Whatever the details, it appears the split is being handled as quickly and easily as possible, which indicates both sides will be fine.

There are lots of little things celebrities do when they are getting ready for red carpets. Everything from hair and nails to jewelry and makeup is usually carefully thought out and aligned when celebrity fashion is involved. Celebs often look their best on red carpets, but going glam is not always the most realistic representation of who people are and what they really look like. Which is why I’ve been so enamored with Dakota Johnson showing off her tan lines this summer at all kinds of events.
Listen, tan lines are super common in the summer. Even celebrities get busy posting gorgeous vacation pics and busting out their summer black bikinis, like Johnson did with mom Melanie Griffith earlier this summer. So, you’d think that red carpets would be filled with tan lines. But thanks to the magic of the spray tan (and makeup), tan lines don’t crop up as much as you’d think.
However, Dakota Johnson made the summer of 2025 the summer tan lines were OK on the carpet. She showed them off in full force at the 59th Karlovy Vary Film Festival, for one example.
a sheer web dress for Madame Web. However, I applaud her getting real about how summer means bikini lines, and that it’s OK to keep them on full display. She did it again whilst wearing this Splitsville premiere dress:
That dress was by Gucci, and while my eyes are certainly drawn to the shiny material, it’s clear she didn’t worry about her tan lines too much.
more wintry looks from Johnson of late, but next summer, let’s bring on the sock lines, shorts lines, bikini lines and more!

Despite It Ends With Us hitting theaters in the summer of 2024, the drama surrounding that movie continues. When Blake Lively filed a suit against Wayfarer Studios, a long legal saga began, including Justin Baldoni’s defamation case against Lively and Ryan Reynolds, as well as the New York Times for its reporting of the drama. Now that publication is suing for legal fees, leading the actor/director’s lawyers to issue their own response. Lets break it all down.
The director of It Ends With Us (streaming now with a Netflix subscription) filed his defamation suit in January of 2025, targeting Lively as well as the New York Times for running a story about the alleged smear campaign aimed at the actress. Baldoni’s defamation case was tossed out back in June, and now Deadline reports that the NY Times is suing “Around $150,000 in attorney’s fees, damages and more.” The filing reads:
book to movie adaptation are likely going to keep coming.
Lively and Baldoni have spent a ton of money and time on this battle, and if the latter has to cough up money for the New York Times it’ll be even more expensive. One can only imagine the cost of their legal fees after nearly a year of back and forth.
It Ends with Us is streaming on Netflix, and Blake Lively has a number of projects lined up on the 2026 movie release list and beyond. Unfortunately, the same can’t be said for Justin Baldoni. At least, not according to his IMDb.

David Harbour and Pedro Pascal have known each since they were 17, with the former having joked about being “mad” at the latter for 30 years because he scored the lead role in a Northwestern play. These two will share screen time in December 2026 for Avengers: Doomsday, but that’s not the only movie they have coming up together. What’s even better is that this other movie is being put together by Andor creator Tony Gilroy.
Fresh off Gilroy bringing one of the best Disney+ Star Wars TV shows to a close after two seasons earlier this year, he’ll next write and direct Behemoth! for Searchlight Pictures. According to Deadline, David Harbour is currently in talks to star opposite Pedro Pascal, and the movie will begin filming in Los Angeles later this fall. The only plot detail for Behemoth! that’s been revealed is it will focus on a cellist.
Stranger Things Season 5. The popular science fiction/horror series that’s viewable with a Netflix subscription catapulted him to worldwide popularity when it premiered in 2016, and later netted him two Emmy nominations and one Golden Globe nomination. Season 5 will be released in three parts, with two volumes releasing November 26 and December 25, respectively, on the 2025 TV schedule, followed by the finale on December 31. Pedro Pascal already made his big exit as Joel Miller in the second season of HBO’s The Last of Us.
Disney+ subscription), and he can also now be heard voicing an alternate version of the character in Marvel Zombies. Meanwhile, Pascal debuted as Reed Richards, a.k.a. Mister Fantastic, in The Fantastic Four: First Steps, and I look forward to seeing these characters interact with each other when the events of Avengers: Doomsday roll around.
Still, as much as I like the prospect of Harbour and Pascal working together outside of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Behemoth! coming from the mind of Tony Gilroy is the cherry on top of this metaphorical sundae. He hasn’t directed a movie since 2012’s The Bourne Legacy, the sole installment in the action film series to not star Matt Damon, and he helmed Michael Clayton and Duplicity before that. That’s not to say he hasn’t been keeping busy with writing and producing stuff besides Andor, but I’m intrigued to see what he has cooking with Behemoth! Along with his writing and directorial duties, Gilroy is producing with Sanne Wohlenberg.
No release date has been set yet for Behemoth!, but we’ll keep you apprised on that information and more updates as they come in. Looking to next year before Avengers: Doomsday arrives, David Harbour will star in Goat and Violent Night 2, and Pedro Pascal will reprise Din Djarin in The Mandalorian & Grogu.

Kill Bill was never meant to be two movies. As originally crafted by Quentin Tarantino, the roaring rampage of revenge was supposed to be a three-hour cinematic epic to be digested in one sitting, and while the film does split in half quite nicely (with Vol. 1 and Vol. 2 each having their own distinct tones), the full experience that the writer/director intended audiences to have has never made it to theaters. That’s been a sad reality for decades… but it’s finally changing later this year.
Fans have long been clamoring for a release of what has been dubbed Kill Bill: The Whole Bloody Affair, and now, at long last, it’s scheduled to happen. Lionsgate has announced that the full version of the kung-fu epic is going to be heading to theaters for the first time ever on December 5… and that’s not all! The cut is also going to include a seven-and-a-half minute animated sequence that has never been screened before.
the cliffhanger ending from Vol. 1 and the recap from Vol. 2 are both cut, which means that the audience discovers that the daughter of Uma Thurman’s The Bride is still alive at the same time that the character does.
Exactly how the new anime sequel will fit into the story is unclear, but I am certainly over-the-moon excited to find out.
This is an event that we here at CinemaBlend will definitely be keeping a close eye on in the coming months (especially as we continue to patiently wait to find out what Quentin Tarantino is going to be doing as his tenth and final film). I highly recommend that all of you mark it on your 2025 movie calendars, as the film is amazing and you’re not going to want to miss it: Kill Bill Vol. 1 and Kill Bill Vol. 2 are both incredible, but Kill Bill: The Whole Bloody Affair is a special experience unto itself that demands to be seen.
